Scope

Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems (ICPS) form a foundation for bridging digital and physical worlds, aiming to coordinate perception, cognition, decision-making, and execution in complex open environments. Traditional ICPS research has relied heavily on symbolic reasoning, knowledge representation, rule-driven decision-making, and conventional data analysis. As application scenarios grow more complex, these approaches face increasing pressure in large-scale information processing, coordinated control, and adaptive optimization.

Recent progress in intelligent spaces, large language models, and AI agents is pushing ICPS from a single-domain cyberspace focus toward deeper integration among humans, machines, and physical entities. Human-machine-physical integrated intelligent systems can combine physical entities, digital resources, and human behavioral activities to support environmental perception, semantic understanding, task planning, collaborative decision-making, and autonomous execution.

This special issue seeks high-quality research on intelligent cyber-physical systems, with particular attention to intelligent space construction, multi-agent collaboration, LLM-driven analysis and optimization, and practical deployment in domains such as intelligent manufacturing, smart cities, smart medical systems, smart transportation, and autonomous unmanned systems.

Topics of Interest

  • Bidirectional mapping mechanisms between physical space and cyberspace
  • Architectures and construction methods for intelligent spaces
  • Edge-cloud-end collaborative mechanisms for intelligent spaces
  • Autonomous agents and multi-agent collaboration technologies
  • Complex task planning and autonomous execution mechanisms
  • Human-machine collaborative and collective intelligence decision-making
  • Cross-device, cross-platform, and cross-modal resource orchestration and scheduling
  • Trustworthiness, reliability, and security assurance mechanisms for agents
  • Large language model-driven semantic understanding and contextual reasoning
  • Large language model-assisted task planning and operational optimization
  • Industrial applications and large-scale deployment of intelligent cyber-physical systems
