Special session editors
Special Session Proposal
JCPSI welcomes proposals for special sessions that define a timely research theme, identify a qualified guest editorial team, and demonstrate clear value to the journal's scholarly community.
Overview
Prospective Guest Editors should prepare a concise but sufficiently detailed proposal before contacting the editorial office. The proposal should explain why the topic is timely, how it fits the scope of the Journal of Cyber-Physical-Social Intelligence, and how the proposed session can attract high-quality submissions from active researchers in the field.
Proposals should be sent directly from the proposer's institutional or professional email account to cpsieditorial@gmail.com. This keeps the editorial discussion in the original email thread and allows the editorial office to respond directly to the proposer.
Proposal Contents
The proposal should include the following items.
-
Title of the Special Session
Provide a clear, concise, and technically focused title. The title should reflect the central research theme and align with the scope of JCPSI.
-
Background and Motivation
Explain the importance, timeliness, and relevance of the proposed topic. Address the current state of research, emerging challenges or gaps, why the topic is important to the target community, and how the session may stimulate new research directions, interdisciplinary collaboration, or practical applications.
-
Central Theme and Scope
Describe the main research focus, expected types of theoretical, methodological, experimental, or application-oriented contributions, the connection to the broader scope of JCPSI, the intended audience, and representative topics to be covered.
-
Guest Editor(s)
Provide the names, affiliations, countries, and contact information of all proposed Guest Editors. Most special sessions are best managed by a small team; proposers may invite 1-3 colleagues or scholars in the field and should clarify responsibilities within the team.
For each Guest Editor, include a short biography summarizing current position, affiliation, main research interests, and relevant scholarly activities. The proposal should demonstrate expertise, visibility, and professional networks in the proposed area.
-
Expected Impact and Significance
Explain the expected contribution of the special session to JCPSI and to the broader research community. The proposal should emphasize originality, significance, and potential impact.
-
Planned Schedule
Provide a tentative schedule for announcement, manuscript submission deadline, first-round review, revision deadline, second-round review, final decision, final manuscript submission, and tentative publication date.
JCPSI strives to maintain a quick yet rigorous review process. The timeline should allow editorial screening for format compliance, scope alignment, and technical suitability within 3-6 days, followed by first-round peer review within approximately 2-3 weeks.
-
Potential Contributors with Tentative Papers
Provide a tentative list of potential contributors who may be invited to submit manuscripts. For each potential contribution, include the contributor's name, affiliation, and tentative paper title. Inclusion on this list does not guarantee acceptance; all manuscripts must go through the journal's normal editorial screening and peer-review process.
-
Draft Call for Papers
Include a draft Call for Papers that can be used for promotion if the special session is approved.
Submission by Email
Please send the proposal to cpsieditorial@gmail.com with a clear subject line.
